A rough house one roomed pub on the edge of the town centre. Has pool table and is a bit run down looking but did have four ales on. had a pint of Jennings Cock-a-Hoop which was nice enough. Not really somewhere I'd trek across town for though but if in the vicinity would drop in.

No awards for cleanliness here, recently it has become very dirty, the loos are the smelliest I have come across in years.

A camra poster to hide behind works wonders.

I visited this place on a Saturday evening, encouraged by earlier revues. I left the choice of real ale to the barman and, thoiugh it smelt and tasted thoroughly hoppy, I couldn't drink it. It was dead. the decor and clientele could be described as 'Bohemian' but scrtuffy is probably nearer the mark. It was, however, a very friendly place and the mixed group of customers all seemed happy.

I'd put this pub as one of three good pubs in Luton the others being the Bricklayer Arms and the English Rose. Good quality real ale, wooden floors and a real fire. They have a rock night once a month. Good pub to go to before going to watch Luton Town as it's only 15min walk to the ground.

One of only two good pubs in Luton, the other being the Bricklayers Arms, shame that they're on opposite ends of the town centre. Great beer, a pool table which is an option when its very quiet (otherwise a waste of time). The H.Metal owners are affable enough (as they, and gothic rockers tend to be) and a friend of mine claims to have spotted some girl on girl snogging behind the bar... which, if true, must've upset the CAMRA subscribing clientele somewhat.
