Visited in June and this pub was CLOSED. Word was it is for sale as a private dwelling — what a shame.

Former Shepherd Neame house - now a freehouse - and a good village pub serving the local Larkins beers as well as the ever-reliable Harveys. Although mostly interested in the beer, I must say that the sandwiches were excellent too.

Great little pub. Everyone is very friendly and the food and ale are excellent. Always fun to be had.. Pop in and see for yourself..

Seems to be the hub of village life and it's fairly easy to see why. Friendly service and good ale in pleasant surroundings. Much more of a pub feel than it's neighbour down the road, the Fleur de Lis.

I think this pub’s changed hands since the preceding reviews were posted. We’ve gone there a few times in the past 6 or 8 months. It’s a free house now – Harveys and Larkins, the dream team! The food is good too although some of it is bought-in. There is even a special deal for wrinklies – a smaller main course and a sweet for a fiver. Great value for the dodderers among us. It’s a very friendly pub. It is always nice to be remembered from one visit to the next, even if they are weeks or months apart.
