I am very sad to report that this lovely old pub has now had its day. I have spent £56.50 of my hard-earned cash on a less than appetising main course and pudding, a pint of cold flat beer and a glass of wine. Service less thn average but I left my tip and walked away for the last time. This used to be a good place to eat!

I am not sure that the previous comment wasn't from a disaffected, former member of staff. As a regular customer this is a superb establishment where myself, colleagues, friends and family enjoy great food, real ales and a wonderful atmosphere. I would highly recommend this pub to anyone and it is exactly the kind of establishment the community should support to ensure we have places we enjoy frequenting.

Worst Pub in the area by far. Run by a Man who obviously has no clue what makes a good pub or atmosphere, Very Very expensive and with no good reason what so ever. Food with no soul or skill. I had a fish pie which did not even have any sauce just dry over cooked fish with lumpy mash. whilst there saw a rat in the garden. AVOID at all costs

Absolute rip off - the drink is beyond expensive, the atmosphere is dead and the food is awful.

I would not recommend going here - try one of the many other pubs and eateries in the town which have far more life and soul for a fraction of the cost.

Pub had 4 ales on - Bath SPA, Black Sheep bitter, Caledonian Wit beer & St Austells Tribute. Bath SPA was fine if a little hazy. Came here after White Horse Half Marathon & all 3 of us stuck with some decent starters - I had the soup which was fine. Lovely sunny day & we all sat outside. Worth checking out to see if any new guest beers.
