The pub is now closed and has been inhabited by squatters! Given the previous comment, this may not be a bad thing...

This pub has been let go and is no longer the place of charm it once was. It is filthy and the seats are ripped, the carpets stained. THe sink smells of damp, and I saw a barmaid washing glasses in the sink, rinsing with hot water then re using. The bar maid, who may well be the landlady was sitting at a table eating, with wet hair, as thoughg it was her house. When she saw me at the bar she indicated thta one of the other customers serve me. It was empty and i am not surprised, it was shabby, dirty and unwelcoming. I have since been told the pub now has a very bad name, drug dealing and late nights. A shame as it was a nice pub a couple of years ago.

One of the classics... and the only alt to the long lost " General Abercrombie' aka 'The Abbey' on Webber St.

Just popped down for a quick pint at lunchtime. It was around 2.00pm so outside any lunchtime rush I guess but it was still very quiet. One couple sat in the corner, me and the barman.

Nice enough boozer, shame its out of the way. No real ale to speak of. Worthingtons is the closest you get. Had a pint of Carling which was actually very good.

Not sure what it would be like in the evenings. Near a large estate so may get a more "down to earth" crowd of an evening!

Worth a try if you fancy a game of pool and a decent lager.
