Perhaps we visited this pub on an off day, but it was not a pleasant atmosphere, the Guinness tasted a bit of disinfectant, and the 'garden' is just a concrete bunker without a roof. Sorry, but I was really not impressed. Hogarth - 10 Oct 2011 17:34
Smallish but comfortable. Shepherd Neame, pretty reasonable. Wilson_MacDonald - 31 Jul 2011 21:42
Has a good pool table, has an interesting sunken garden type area, good function room, good books. Interesting layout to pub although can be a bit stressful when it's busy. mcheather - 2 Jun 2010 20:13
This place has been taken over since christmas, and I've got to say you can really tell the difference! When I went in there (on a weds evening), it was lively and pleasantly busy, with a really nice atmosphere that I always thought was lacking before. Had a chat with the new landlord and apparently he's got lots of plans for the place. Also, the food was excellent. Definitely recommend this pub! mushashi - 15 Mar 2010 16:39
This pub is such a disappointment. Characterless, usually only one ale pump working out of three, it feels unloved by the people who run it. The last two times I went there (with people from work, not through choice) I had to wait almost ten minutes to be served, the first time because the barman was having some kind of crisis and kept having to check his phone and run outside, the second because it was early-ish Friday evening, and hence all three bars were fairly full, yet there was only one member of staff on. If you care for all the elements that make up a good pub: a choice of good ale, friendly efficient bar staff and a feeling that the people who run it actually care about more than just taking your money, then don't bother. melita666 - 26 Nov 2009 13:54
