Have popped in for a drink and approve of the lighter brighter decor. Nice to see a coffee shop area at the far end. c_and_j - 10 Mar 2012 22:45
I've just re-read my review and I stand by it but what I would say is that all opinions are purely personal. What I like in a pub may not be someone else's choice. If I was asked where was good and cheap to eat this pub would not be my recommendation. I don't believe that I have made sustained attacks on the pub but I have noted when ownership/management changes. Personally I think the last landlords did more to keep it as a friendly village pub. I shall not comment any more on this place but shall leave you all to the biased and misspelt rantings of Satta. worthit - 7 Dec 2011 14:48
Oh dear it would appear that Satta has a personal link with this awful 'pub'. They have posted no reviews on any other place but seem to have an enormous amount of knowledge about only one place. Travel around Satta and you will find that this place in incredibly average and over-priced. Obviously you have not spoken to any of the locals recently. One couple who have been there to eat 3 times said that twice it was mediocre and the last time was dreadful and the food was cold. This particular couple were great supporters of the last owners but have vowed not to eat there again. If you don't like locals pubs then this is the place to go. Locals are seriously discouraged. Dull and boring people can be found behind the bar including one bloke who is nearly 70! I wonder if that is Satta? This is not a man's pub any more it's too pretentious. Go to The White Horse in Lindfield or the Stand-Up Inn in Lindfield. Proper drinks and proper punters and food. worthit - 7 Dec 2011 02:04
I've not been back since the new owners took over so after reading the recent vitriolic reviews I was curious to say the least. I'm happy to say that the new regime is doing an excellent job. The building has been refurbished and redecorated throughout. The staff are friendly and attentive and although the beer selection is limited, what is available (Harveys and Bass) is well kept. The food is neither over priced nor pretentious. The menu is standard pub fare but the quality is good and the portions generous. There is also now a coffee shop attached which should help to make the place more of a focus for the village. We certainly intend to visit again. Incidentally there appears to be a green right outside the front door but being a townie I could be mistaken. REVERENDBAZ - 19 Nov 2011 17:28
Very disappointed with 'worthit's' sustained attack on this pub. Previous landlord took the place from being boarded up to viable pub and offered to make amends for 'worthit' seemingly disappointing night out. Worthit appears to have not only declined the hospitality of the previous landlord but also continued a vendetta on numerous website. A normal punter would possibly give a bad review and move on. The continued attack on The Farmers by Worthit continuing to the new landlord and the new name of Inn on The Grees suggests their may be something more than honest reviews going on here. Previous landlord handed on far better pub than he inherited to new 'Inn on the Green' My own view is that the new landlord is building on what he has inherited and has worked hard delivering a fully refurbished inside and out pub. The pub is notable for beer lovers as not only delivering draft Harveys but also being the only pub in the area delivering cask Bass Ale. Lager lovers have choice of standard priced Amstell to premium Hoegarden and Peroni. I have used this pub for many years and I have not seen the investment being put in by the new landlord matched by anyone in my time. Give it a try. The Inn on the Green may have cracked it for this place. Satta - 21 Oct 2011 21:01
