Have visited this pub on a number of occassions and always found it to be friendly with a good selection of real ales and a great location. However, visited on the night of 30th December as part of a group of 6 boaters and we won't be rushing back. Last orders was called at 11 and the bar lady suddenly became the most aggressive and rude I've come across. By 10 past 11 she was offering to put our drinks, which were virtually finished, in plastic glasses to take away. No glasses had actually been cleared from the table all evening until this last crazy 20 minutes.

Eat here one evening on our narrowboat holiday. Food and beer were both perfectly fine, but the pub does look as though it could do with a bit of TLC.

Was here 21 years ago on a previous narrowboat trip and I swear the craters in the plaster in the room with the skittles table were the same ones! Still it's good that they still have a skittles table.

This is a good drinking pub with a good range of local(ish) ales. Wouldn't know about the food but if you want a pint next to a canal then this isn't bad

Went here for lunch. Place has a lot of character but feels a bit run down. Food was very poor quality. Had clearly been lying around for a long time before being warmed up. Shame as the pub has a lot of potential. I will go elsewhere next time.

A few real ales available and the Frog Island Bitter was on good form. The food is substantial but is lacking in quality and not very memorable.Friendly staff and a good place to catch televised sport especially after a lot of the diners will have moved off by 9pm,when the pub reverts to a more " boozer" atmosphere.
