Massive and extended renovation during summer of 2011. Due for reopening as a traditional country village pub in August. Now a Free House and details of beers and menus to come later.

The "Hod" will be closed for major refurbishment from 18 March 2011 for about four months. It is now owned by a company set up by four local residents and when it reopens will be a free house serving real ales and good pub-type food.

After years of declining trade and reputation it is good news for the villagers who look forward to having a real country pub to attend in future.

Mid July 2010, the pub appears to be closed up. It is said to be reopening with new management.

Good location. Two bars with another dark room by the gents lavatory. Beers are ok. Food expensive. Ambiance almost non existent with frequently only young foreign-sounding girls serving food and drinks. Little sign of the landlord.

Old-style pub bar/restaurant tucked away in this 'Sleepy Hollow' Hampshire village. Well-kept bitters, Ruddles County/Greene King IPA and run by a cheery Geordie chef-landlord who apparently likes to get his hands dirty racing/ spannering an old Porsche on his days off.! Good food, both choice and quality, with game options frequently available, it seems. I visit occasionally when in the area and beer is always very good. Have eaten less frequently, but again, has always been excellent. Bar decor might benefit from a minor refurb, but it's adequate.
