great pub If you want a toby jug or theme pub then go somewhere else all these comments are rubbish good entertainment good food and a lot done for the local community as for the landlord well would you prefer if the pub was full of idiots where you couldnt have a quiet drink in safety. Try harder

golfeight You are right on the Button he is hateful. Not one of the customers like him they slag him off behind his back as well. He really a kid hater and the food in his little dirty resteraunt is to say the least NOT VERY GOOD either. You are also correct Lucy I applaud you both . Lets have some more of you speaking the truth about this man. GET HIM OUT

Child hating obnoxious landlord ruins this pub. He is offensive in his manner and even more offensive to look at.

Nice pub , good ale. Landlord seems abrupt at times, but ive found if you dont upset him, he doesnt bother you.

Not a place for kiddies and food is average, but proper locals pub with good beer will do for me

COULDN'T AGREE MORE - I HAVE LIVED IN ASHTON ALL MY LIFE AND THE PLOUGH HAS ALWAYS BEEN A FRIENDLY 'LOCAL'
THE LANDLORD IS INDEED AN OBNOXIOUS AND RUDE PERSON WHO HAS DRIVEN MANY REGULARS AWAY.
IN A TIME WHEN PUBS ARE SHUTTING AT A RAPID RATE YOU WOULD THINK HE WOULD MAKE AN EXTRA EFFORT TO BE WELCOMING - THE BEST TIME TO DRINK IN THE PLOUGH IS WHEN THE LANDLORD IS AWAY
