The best feature of the new inn is the beamed eating area, which is 90% of the floor area.a small area with lovely leather settees for just having a pint,or plenty of stools at the bar.i wanted a pint before eating, but the owner quickly put a oversized menu in my hand and directed me to a reserved table.the guest beer was lovely, but wine was served in a small chubby glass, not the elegant glasses already on the table.the starter of three scallops covered in a cheese ,runny sauce ,was not worth nearly £7.my partner had goats cheese on a bed of rocket, but there was no rocket.and it was purely a piece of goats cheese on a salad .the sirloin steaks were tasty, and the real chips were a treat.its a pity i had to leave my table after 10 mins waiting for the mustards ordered when the steaks were presented.a voucher for wine was given on paying the bill, which was nice.overall the new inn is a nice place to visit,in a lovely location.

I live local which is very convenient for me as I love to go there and visit often with both my family and friends. The food is lovely, along with the service, the staff are very welcoming and efficient. All for a very reasonable price; they do excellent set menus and have lots of tasty dishes to choose from.

I've started frequenting the New Inn on a regular basis after visiting for the first time with friends a few months ago. The food is of the highest quality and reasonably priced and the staff are very welcoming and accomodating.
I've sampled the beers on offer, of which there is an impressive selection, and they are absolutley faultless, alongside a lengthy and impressive selction of quality wines.
All in all, I would highly recommend this pub to any potential new customers, and will keep visiting myself for some considerable time.

I've been visiting The New Inn on a regular basis for many years now and in my view it remains unsurpassed by any pub-restaurant in the area. You can always rely on The New Inn for top class food and a good night out. There's a great atmosphere at the Sunday night quiz and the real ales are spot on with good a selection. Clean, friendly, relaxing - I highly recommend it.

The New Inn, Etchinghill

Over-rated. The food is OK but too expensive for what it is. Background music is far too loud and intrusive. Service is fine and the beer is OK but there is nothing here to really make you want to come back.
Go a few miles further on, to the Kings Arms at Elham, have a good meal at decent prices, and some good beer.
