| Probably a bit "off" to post a comment on a(so called) pub without having set foot in it but... My wife and I arrived at the Tickled Trout after a very enjoyable walk along the Medway. I would describe us as a "bit scruffy" , both had a bit of mud on our jeans, but well funded and looking forward to a good lunch and a couple of pints. Just about to enter when I clapped eyes on the profesionally printed sign on the door--"smart casual dress only". Give me abreak!! This is a restaurant, probably with ideas well above its station--a pub it is not. Bah!! agedtrundler - 16 Nov 2009 20:18 |
| Two of us went on our bikes to the Tickled Trout and were delighted to find the Thursday Special - two courses for £7.50! Had a lovely steak & kidney pudding with all the bits, followed by treacle tart and custard. All were washed down with a pint of London Pride. Joe had salmon, then a large plate of banoffee pie. The staff were super too. Replete and highly satisfied with the quality of our lunch , we returned cautiously home on two wheels. Will be going there again. Kingshillbiker - 23 Oct 2009 09:21 |
| I have been to the Tickled Trout for the past three years with friends for lunch Wonderful range of good ales .Very comfortable restaurant nice to see things retained in the olde style. The Tues & Thurs menus are fantastic At least 2 roasts home made pies & puddings with fresh fish to choose from Desserts to die for all home made & many seasonal specials .I had at easter Bread & Butter Pudding made with a hot x buns FANTASTIC. Staff have been consistantly the most friendly & efficient in the County. Well done we look forward to many more years of fine dining. | Lovely building, nice beer garden, not sure about the food. The menu is extensive, whic I always find a concern, no child portions on offer, the chilli and rice I had was very poor, lumps of mince so large I thought they were meatballs! My friend had scampi and chips which did look like a childs portion. I found it difficult to find something that my children would eat, and the drinks were very expensive. ashleigh - 27 Jul 2009 11:49 |
| Far too many options to choose from the menus. They must have the biggest freezer and microwave in the county. Tis neither one thing or the other, not a proper boozer nor a proper eating place. A disappointment. farleigh - 21 Jul 2009 23:08 |
