| Went for their Sunday carvery whilst visiting matlock, staff rude, no please and thankyous and rubbish with kids. Refused to heat our daughters baby food up claiming it was for "health and safety" reasons, the first pub we have come across that doesn't do this! | As regular visitors to Matlock, this is our favourite place to eat, chill with a pint and stay over for weekends.The staff are really welcoming and friendly. You wont get a better breakfast anywhere in the area and their daytime menu has a great variety with generous portions. A bonus for us is that pets are welcome too. | Big pub that gets seriously busy in the summer (it's next to the railway station and has a drinking terrace over the river Derwent). Slightly on the pricey side for the area, but has good atmosphere and decnt beer. pablos13 - 24 Aug 2005 15:14 |
