Looks OK from the outside. Shame it is a Greene King pub. The range is poor. The only good thing was the Hardys and Hanson 'Olde Trip'. (shame its not brewed in Nottingham these days!. Don't rate it. If you want foods you have the 'Vs' across the road, for somewhere to stay you have the 'Old Bakery' and if you want a proper beer the 'Vs' is good, The 'Royal Oak' is very good but the 'Old Bakery' is fantastic for Ales and Whiskey. trains2064 - 6 Mar 2008 16:35
If there's no room in the Old Bakery and you are scared of crossing the road - this is the place for you! Decent beer in clean, uninspired surroundings. londinieres - 14 Sep 2006 20:34
Given the competition (Vs across the road, Old Bakery next door but one) its not abad place for a hotel bar. Going with the tradition of good English hotels and bars, non of the staff are English, but the hand-pulled ales are nicely kept. Think old Percy who used to run the cellar has now gone to the beer-cellar in the sky. Scarey_biscuits - 22 Aug 2005 12:48
