I found this place to be somewhat tired and slightly 'run down'. But in fairness, it has great potential. New tenants (6 months +). Needs improvement....but hey, ho....we'll see. 6/10 from me.

Loved the food - delicious, and they are very welcoming of dogs which suited us. Good ales on. Only slight downside were the toilets, could have been cleaner.

Good selection of well kept local ales, just eaten there and staf are friendly, food excellent and a nice place to be. Not basic bar food but steak, fish and game on menu. Will be returning soon.

What joy, a real pub. Great Staff, Owners and Locals. Great pint of Harveys. Food was all that you would want, wholesome pub grub that I thought had disappeared in the gastro era. Also great value for money. Really nice coffee to end the meal too. If you are in the area make this a definate stop off, you will not be diappointed.

Went to the Amberley, before and after the Black Horse. (should have stayed put.) Lovely pub, great location. Quiet beer garden tucked around the back. Lovely chatty staff and friendly locals too. Highly recommended.
