I believe that that this pub is now closed.

Any reports on what is going on here?
I have heard rumours that is will reopen again but nothing as yet has happened.

Looks like it could be quite a nice country pub with a bit of work and the right owners, it is in quite a good location too near to the M5 and caravan sites too.

Any updates anyone?

Went in here for the Sunday roast and it wasn't too bad at all. It's pretty large inside and if it gets too busy there is a large (though soulless) room you can spill into, where the carvery is. Didn't seem particularly scruffy to me, seemed fine, had a couple of ales on though I don't remember what.

Scruffy and cold, beer far too cold, food mediocre, understaffed, avoid.

Have heard varied and differnt reports over the years so gave it a try myself. The building although old is somewhat dreary and dowdy, although we did have a very friendly welcome from ye hosts. The food was well cooked and presented but, not what i would call brilliant. although there seemed to be some bargains on the menu and specials board, i thought the price of the baked pots were a bit ott. It didn;t say come back soon or call again to me, but there you are. The pint of Boddingtons though was 1st class. So not all doom and gloom.

country pub with good food and sit out area. Close to M5 and a cider farm . Stocks my favourite cigars too.
