On ordering food we were told it would take 45 minutes. Having waited 1.5 hours we queried with the waiter where our food was - he sent over the manager. I feel they may have had this issue before. Starters were only chicken goujons and a plate of bread and olive oil. I asked how long he thought this should take, to which he answered about 5 minutes. He then went to check with the kitchen. He told us starters had already come out (where to we are not sure) and he would chase the main meals. Please note that people who had come in an hour after us had received their food. After a fruitless conversation as to what had happened to our order we left. We managed to drive back to Bilston (near Wolverhampton), go to a local pub, order and get our meal served in less time than we sat in The Red Lion. We were the third people to my knowledge to complain about the length of the wait. Take my advice - DO NOT GO TO THE RED LION IF YOU ARE IN NEED OF FOOD THE SAME DAY!!! loumorris - 25 Aug 2008 21:38
Chain pub frequented by Brummies out for the day. Souless, boring rubbish and the food is/was crap when I last went in there. anonymous - 3 Oct 2006 16:42

Beefeater-style chain family eaterie. Only worth a visit for a hot chocolate with a dash of brandy and marsh mallows floating in it. BlueStringPudding - 18 Feb 2006 20:37
