First visit to the Globe for several years. Huge improvement, and more upmarket now.
Service: Very helpful and friendly. Lots of attention to detail - even get proper napkins with the food !
Beer: Just had the Doombar - excellent
Food: very good; beautifully presented. Roast lamb followed by Bread & butter Pudding. Top quality and delicious. Varied menu.
Ambience: Lovely.
Sunday newspapers provided
Would defintitely reccommend for both Beer and Food, and the staff make a real effort.

The Globe is back on absolutely top form under its enthusiastic new management, who have taken the radical approach of creating a welcoming atmosphere and being interested in and responsive to customers' opinions. It's been subtly refurbished to restore its former warm and relaxed ambience, and the staff are incredibly keen and friendly. Great menu of freshly prepared well-priced dishes using local produce - not a main course over £10. As a local who has seen the Globe struggle and decline (since the glory days of Lynn... ;-( ) it's terrific to see it doing so well again.

"CaptainDave" I think I can safely say they have sorted it out. What a fabulous pub this is. Location and beer garden is absoloutely Idyllic and the Ales and service was that good on the saturday I visited whilst out walking that we went back on the Sunday with my family for lunch and the quality of the food and service did not disappoint. I would recommend this place to anyone. Definately the pick of the Pubs in Alresford.

hope it has sorted itself out since last year at the watercress festival when they only had 2 staff behind the bar who kept disappearing out to the kitchen, leaving it 6 deep at the bar.

A great location for a pub with a nice looking lake right outside - unfortunately plagued by midges in the evening! Moving inside to continue drinking, there was a great range of reading material and friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. Good range of beer for all tastes - not just ale drinkers. The food looked a little pretentious so not my 'cup of tea', but probably a decent bet for a special evening out. Still retains some charm despite being 'modernised' inside.
