My wife and I went for a quick lunch Saturday i the lounge. Not so many people in the pub, around 10. The food was very good and at a reasonable price. Recommended. steve2010 - 24 Nov 2010 14:54
Have dined here a few times. Food here is fairly cheap, but good quality, in big sized portions, well above the standard of the big chains. £10 will get a 2 course meal. Lamb shank, steak and ale pie and the steaks all recommended. 1 portion of garlic bread will do for 2 as a starters, same for the cheesy potato wedges. Food seems to be cooked properly on the premises, not those pre-chilled offerings some places offer. Has early bird offers on between 5 and 7, for some of the items on the menu. Good beer too. son_of_odin - 10 Aug 2010 07:34
The landlord is one of the rudest men i have ever met. We have always gone in for football matches no problem with my younger sister who is 16. However upon entering the england vs slovenia match which started at 3 oclock we were rudely confronted by a drunken man demanding id, assuming this a joke we thought nothing of it however it turned out this was the landlord. He ushered us outside and rudely accused us of being under age and demanding id. I am 18 so had no problem but his attitude towards my sister was completely uncalled for and upset her. A simple "sorry its 18s+" would have been acceptable, however the manor inwhich he chose to "chuck us out" was entirely inappropriate infront of many england fans. There was no 18s+ sign anywhere so we assumed it was the same rules as local football matches. When my dad showed up to see what the problem was he was rude to him and appeared to not care when he said we would never return. We shall never ever go back that after that. Such a t*sser. rossj92 - 23 Jun 2010 18:38
