yates is a fun pub for a girls night. lots of sexy men good music and cheap drinks. what more can u want? lisa.x - 5 Sep 2006 23:24
The garishly lit exterior and the fat bassy sounds emanating from within serve as a warning. Step inside into a "slappers and twats" party - where the girls were micro-minis and patent stilletos to show off their pasty pudgy legs and the fellers don white shirts, black, buckled shoes, at least one gold hoop earring and a dowdy 'tache. Nottingham city centre at its finest, minus any students. Expect to be called "duck" a lot when you're in here. anonymous - 31 May 2006 16:31
One of those bars you dont really talk about and only do when you walk past it and then walk back and go in because its packed. Service is pritty aweful, about 10 - 15 minutes queing, not what i want to be doing on a night out. I probably wouldn't mind if the staff looked bothered but from what i've seen there not. Dj is ok, i spose because he does play music for all ages and you get all ages in Yates. But weirdly i have a good time when me and my mates venture in there. But only stay in there bout 20 mins then we are gone. Bigz5443 - 24 Nov 2005 15:37

My first proper experience of Yatess and on first impression it seems more like a nightclub than pub with DJ etc. Standard drinks and youngish clientele (although one or two 'older' men as well) - everyone seemed to be rather drunk on the Saturday night we went in. Service at the bar poor - the time taken to get the first round of drinks meant that we went to another pub once we'd finished them. An experience - everyone should do it once! cuttysark - 4 Jul 2005 14:02
