I don't believe it! After 15 years they have changed the menu, and guess what? The New Inn brunch (my favourite) is no longer available.........great. Never mind, perhaps they have changed the choice of real ale on offer. After all, it has probably been over 20 years since the last change. Nope, still the same. Adnams Broadside, Courage best and bloody Greene King I.P.A........argh!!! fugglehops - 15 Nov 2009 18:13
Having tried all three pubs in Roydon, mainly for something to eat than just for a drink, the New Inn is by far my favourite. There is something for everyone on the menu (The New Inn Brunch is my choice). You can not fault the cooking - nor the price. So, why do I not come here for the beer? If you like GK Abbot / IPA or an Adnams then you're in luck because it will be on the bar this year, next year and every bloody year thereafter. I was told the locals don't like change - they have found the right pub then!!! fugglehops - 7 Jun 2009 20:40
Hi - as im new to the village I have been to all 3 of the pubs. I must say the this pub has a real home feel to it. I did get looked at very funny when I walked in, I guess this is a real locals pub, correct me if im wrong, and i dont mean to offend. It was th eimpression i got. I see that you are allowed to bring children in to this pub, shame as i cant stand children being in a pub. However nice pub, I will try again some time. I do like the McMullens ale, never herd of it before, I noticed that only the crusader does this. Are all the pubs in this village privatley owned or comapany run? anonymous - 25 Mar 2007 14:46
The New Inn is something of an institution in Roydon. Friendy with good beer (Adnams and Green King IPA), good food and a great atmosphere. There is a great beer garden, barbeques in the summer and plenty of local character. Steve_G - 15 Oct 2006 17:34
