Good news - no longer Indian restaurant.......Bad news - turned Thai.

The Fox is no more. It has been turned into an Indian restaurant.

Sad to say, The Fox has lost something since it's re-opening (now including my custom). I took my wife and young son for lunch there today and despite sort of enjoying the food we left with a sour taste in our mouths.
I had enquired after a vegetarian option from the carvery and was offered a "mediterranean pastry". This sounded ok, though obviously a pastie. The waitress very kindly plated my wife's veg for her (albeit on a teeny tiny plate) so that she could stay at the table with our son.
The time came to pay, and I noticed that the vegi meal had been charged as a Vegetarian Lasagne, some 2 pounds more than the Carvery. I brought this up with the waitress wondering whether a mistake had been made. At this point the Manager took over. She would not concede any point that I made, spoke to me like one would a child and seemed utterly unflapped that we would not be returning. I paid and left.

Upon returning home I phoned the pub and asked for their head office details, the staff member went away to find out for me but the Manager picked up the phone and informed me "there is no head office, I'm head office"

Which explains a lot.

Perhaps we will return in six months or so after the inevitable bankruptcy.
