Nice country pub set off the main road in the centre of a pretty village (from what we could see - it was dark!). Reasonably popular with around 20 customers , it also had a good ale range - Sharps Doom Bar, Springo Blue Anchor, Penzance Potion No.9 & Brisons Bitter & St Austell Dartmoor Bitter, plus Addlestones cider. Worth a detour. blue_scrumpy - 13 Jan 2012 20:59
What a superb pub. Excellent beer, good food and a cathedral among smoking shelters. Dog-friendly, no idiots, warm and cosy, the list goes on. I've never done this before but credit where it's due; a perfect 10. mousefan - 30 Dec 2010 20:46
We weren't in the place long enough to soak up the atmosphere - something I shall put right next year when I'm in Cornwall. The locals eyed us up and down as we entered - I take it this is a locals type establishement. The barman was polite. Had a pint of Stogs. It was good. Large bar area with several ales on at time of visiting. Need to spend longer in here really. Gives me an excuse to do just this another time... Jonnysaint - 9 Dec 2010 14:00
what an exellent pub, well kept ales ie tribute and doombar, the food is out of this world all local produce and not megabucks either, the landlord and staff are really helpfull.... I make a point of going to this pub every time we are in cornwall. seajay - 1 Nov 2010 19:12
Very decent pub just a little off the beaten track so not quite as frantic as some in the area. Great selection of real ales, regulars as well as guests, and excellent food. Dog and children friendly too. jimatgp - 2 Dec 2009 18:03
