| SHOCKING bar service at any time of the day, due to inadequate staff-quota. Management is apathetic, arrogant and unaccommodating. Spend your money somewhere else! Shaka29 - 3 Jun 2008 01:15 |
| I was really hungry when we saw the Pickhurst, and excited about the seafood platter. The decor is lovely but this doesn't carry over to the restuarant - we waited 40 minutes for our food and it arrived cold and oily, as if it had been fried twice in stale oil. Totally inedible. The manager was delightful and refunded our money but she was clearly struggling against the kitchen - we noticed 2 other equally unhappy tables as we waited for our "meal". Nice surroundings but only eat crisps! inspector_gold - 16 Feb 2008 18:46 |
| The pickhurst is a fantastic, friendly, clean, child friendly pub to have on your doorstep. Since the refurbishment the interior makes it a step above the rest and the carvery is brilliant. We recently took friends there who are always hard to please and they loved the food and the atmosphere. I'm going again for a business meeting tonight so I hope I'm still right!!! | Food awful with rock hard roast potatoes, poor excuse for Yorkshire Pudding. Area behind chef who is carving and serving food disgusting and quite off putting, with food all over the floor. Puddings quite abysmal with minute servings, very splodge of custard. Descrepancies in bill which had to be brought to the attention of the waitress. Thought pub might have improved over the past couple of years since paid the last visit. Might have revamped a couple of months ago, but certainly not impressed with overall ambience and food is poor. junewright - 24 Sep 2007 12:12 |
