| I highly recomend this place to anyone, this is on my top list of places to drink and this is why......go in there and meet the landlord Graeme and tell him your name.......then go in there a year or 2 later and i guarantee he will still remember you by name. He and his partner Sue have had this pub since i moved into this town (1992) and are still going strong despite a few fatal illnesses and a smoking ban possibly theatening their livelihood. They are the nicest people you will ever meet. For a small back street pub they have skittle teams, dart teams and i think a pool team so on rare occations when its quiet it's a nice place to relax with a pint of beer and chat with a few of the friendly locals. Park street does have a reputation for the trouble in its pubs but can honestly say that the Star has never had any kind of trouble......infact i don't think anyone has ever swore in there. ivedrankinallthepubs - 6 May 2008 23:06 |
