| The old landlord has gone back to the Jolly Anglers in Reading. The problem he had in the Crispin was due to that ghastly woman he was involved with, but now they've split hopefully he'll do a good job in the Jolly. Meanwhile, the new landlord of the Crispin is trying hard to win back all the old regulars the evil witch threw out, and he deserves all the support he can get. mericet - 18 Mar 2010 11:30 |
| Recently taken over and a marked improvement in the quality of the beer, cleanliness and approach to customer care. Beer is well kept and the lines cleaned regularly. Choice of 3 ales which is plenty (Old Peculiar, Hulabaloo and 6X last night). The place feels a lot cleaner despite the bear sized (friendly) dog. | The landlord and landlady have now left and returned, allegedly, to the Jolly Anglers in Reading. A new manager takes over today, so let's see if things improve. | used the crispin for more than 20 years.new landlord,very rude,kicked out all of the regulars,we cant wait for him to leave as he has ruined a very good wokingham watering hole.the pub owners will see a lot more custom if he was not there. thirstytim - 18 Feb 2010 19:54 |
| Went to this pub a few times... To be honest the staff are great but the landlord and landlady are openly at war with eachother. Get the feeling it's a real us and them situation there... If in Wokingham and fancy a real ale, walk past and get on the train to Reading - loads of nice pubs where customer service and beer quality come first. Won't be going back!
