I visited this pub for the first time on Saturday.
Now, granted it was in the evening and I'd been on it all day because of the rugby.

It's a big place inside. The beers I had were served in very good time, given how busy it was, by a friendly barmaid and were decent pints.
I shall definitely try this place again, preferably when sober.

I must also comment on the clientelle. They were young, having a good time and I never felt intimidated or annoyed. In fact, I'd like to thank the pretty girl in the lace dress sitting near us. When you bent over, I saw the tops of your tights!

Often I visit this pub, which is on the main street through Uplands... near the student houses, Tesco and a couple of shops and useful cash machines!

This is a really good pub for those who like space and gigs! Though there is a corner for the more cosy-seeking customers (named Dylan's Snug, after one of the famous locals who frequented the pub, Dylan Thomas). The choice of real ale is limited: Abbot Ale, Greene King IPA and one guest, which changes each month at times.

However, the place is not very good for phone signal, unless you go outside in the seating area, which can hold quite a few! And for some reason, the live music has gone louder... which sometimes makes it difficult to hear oneself think!

And the owners can be quite forceful on kicking out time. They are very punctual and like to keep it that way. But then... it's their job, pub and licence, after all!

However, since my last comment, it seems this place has taken a nose dive in popularity, both inside and out. VERY quiet over the last weekend, and talking to some of the locals outside here, its nothing unusual nowdays, since the change of management !!!!!.......

I wouldn't have thought BBC Radio Wales could be taken seriously with that comment either. How often have they visited the Pub......

I've called in here a lot over the last 2 Years, and its a great place to relax outside, and has a lovely atmosphere too, plus reasonable prices, with great staff as well, so I have no problems with the Pub at all. In fact I often recommend it to others.....

It's not the Pub claiming to be "the best live music pub in South Wales" - this ws sad by B.B.C. Radio Wales!
