Best Pub in Hersham. A well maintained, great traditional pub with a warm atmosphere, always friendly and safe unlike other pubs in the area. Yes the beer is a bit pricey but you always get a decent quality pint. The food is excellent, but you need to get in at the right time on a Sunday if you want the roast as it tends to be very popular. The outside is always worth a look in the summer if you like a good show of flowers! britishtakeaway - 15 Oct 2009 18:57
Enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch there, good value and quality. Unfortunately I will never go back there, and I will do my best to ensure that none of my local friends do either, as they refused to serve me a glass of water with the meal, although we had paid over £40 for food and drinks. Apparently this is the policy of the landlord, who was not there for me to tell him my view on this. Bottled water is extremely harmful to the environment and an unnecessary affectation. If I choose to drink tapwater I strongly resent someone refusing to provide me with it. Mikecpt - 13 Oct 2009 00:08
As mentioned in other reviews, very expensive drinks here. So much so that people I know have started looking elsewhere. The Ashley near Walton on Thames station is much better value and food and I know some people moved onto there now. Having said that, I've never had a bad pint and the evening food is good quality. So if the prices get more realistic, we may all start meeting up at this pub again. oldpeculiarman - 23 Aug 2009 22:10
Well run tradional 2 bar pub. Finbar (excellent guy) and his team serve a well kept pint though never eaten here yet. Interesting decor. Decent clientele. RoyTheBike RoyTheBike - 25 Feb 2007 09:46
Hmmmm, yes, I noticed the extensive use of wallcoverings. But serves an okay pint and you won't get your head kicked in. Unless "Doug the boats" in a bad mood that is! anonymous - 11 Oct 2005 22:26
