Re-opened May 2013.

New management

Very good reports locally of both food and beer.

More to come

Sign on front says this pub is to close 14th Jan 2012. Understood locally that Landlord is leaving to take another pub at Wookey.

Sign says pub is to be refurbished and will re-open, later in the spring, under new management.

Great location on top of the Mendips.

Been once or twice, excellent variety of beers and cider (including the delightful Cornish Rattler).

Portions enormous, food ok. The ploughmans seems expensive at 8.something until you see it.

Staff young & friendly but busy - as someone else says, you order at the bar.

Don't turn up for lunch on a sunday without booking! Was utterly rammed yesterday.

Have eaten here before (couple of weeks ago) and the food was amazing but disappointed with the Christmas meal. New potatoes underdone and roast potatoes and parsnips overdone. Good selection of veg. Service slow but friendly staff. Chunks of turkey rather than slices so a bit off putting, way too much - took it home for the dog! Would eat there again on normal days but would not recommend for Christmas meal.

Met up with sister-in-law and family for sunday lunch. 8 of us in total. Service wasn't the quickest but fortunately we weren't in any hurry. Meals were good although if I'm being picky the roast potatoes were over cooked (possibly cos we met at 2). Food is ordered at the bar. Nice pub, nice fire going, nice atmosphere. Have added it to our list of meeting places.
