Smallish hotel opposite the ancient abbey church. One big room, a bar to one side and a dining oriented area to the other, there are also function rooms and a large garden which slopes down to one of Romseys many streams. Three hand pumps with Courage Best and Directors plus the rather better Youngs bitter, although all are very well kept in keeping with its GBG entry. Dcor is slightly shabby faux victorian with some risque pictures. The staff are professional and attentive and the place has been well run for years by a very experienced friendly couple. The customers are an interesting mixed bunch but generally friendly.

Proper Rat infested S**T hole
too dark, very rude staff, boring tasteless food very over priced.
Very bad Environmental Health Report!

Good points:
Nice garden in the summer.
Well kept beer.

Not so good:
Pub and rooms need re-decoration, very tatty and run down.
Seems to have a Rattus norvegicus problem in the garden and car park.
Average food at above average prices compared to the rest of the town.

Wonderful pub. Staff friendly and efficient. Check out the beer garden in the summer - beautiful. Definitely recommended.
