I have to agree with previous comments abouy how mixed the clientele in here are. Anyone could visit and comfortably fit in. The barmaid who served me seemed quite polite which is always a bonus. I didn't try the food, it seemed a little too pricey. The beer I had from their own brewery was only £2.50 a pint (Jan 2012) though it was very hazy. If I had to choose between the two, I would rather visit the canal house next door. jarofporter - 31 Jan 2012 13:50
Nice place, bit dated though, ok choice beers. Main gripe though is witht the terrible management and administration. I had booked to have my party there 2 weeks ago only to be told they booked someone else with only 8 days left. They made no attempt to contact me about this and have not offered me any assistance with trying to book elsewhere. The management don't seem to know their own rules for booking as no deposit was mentioned at the time and over the last week since I was trying to arrange menus with them etc. Can't help but think they decided to shoe-horn some crony in rather than honour their commitments. Thank you very much Fellows Morton and Clayton and you can be assured that I will not hold any future events at your establishment, neither will any of my associates. NottsScot - 5 Jan 2012 17:54
Plenty of choice most days. Nice staff, mixed bag of customers from suits to t-shirts. Nice pint of London Pride on my last visit. ng10 - 11 Aug 2011 10:19
The ale I had here was okay (kind of forgot what it was by this stage) but this is very much a 'circuit' pub. Okay if you are doing the circuit or want a swift pint before the train I suppose. Toilets are a bit of a trek upstairs. Snarling_Mallard - 17 Jul 2011 16:07
I spent a large chunk of my youth in this pub - before staggering on to the Irish. Went back for the first time in years and hasn't changed much (or been cleaned). Always lively and with good beer and the food was fine too Edd70 - 8 Oct 2010 12:24
