Some really good ales last week... Jaipur IPA @ 5.9 volume is a lovely drink. Really nice Rock mild as well.

Great range of real ales and half decent food too... Gets a mix of older drinkers and students so balance is pretty good

Of all the JD Wetherspoons I have visited, I think this is one of the best. It's no gastro/real ale pub, but it's cheap, the staff seem efficient enough, and it has a good range of beer that are kept better than the JD average.

The customers here seem slightly less interested in simply getting smashed compared to the JD norm, most using it as a normal pub which is nice.

The outdoor area is okay in the summer.

Busy on a Thursday afternoon (market on in town). Good selection of beers (it's in the Good Beer Guide) and the one I had was served well. Seems like a good Wetherspoons.

Really quite decent Wetherspoons. Huge range of ales and the quality of the food was actually very good. Atmosphere is always a little odd in these places but the bar staff were very friendly and helpful
