What a difference a few months make. The landlord and landlady that made this place so good have gone. The new people have only been there a couple of days when i returned and the place seemed hollow and lacking everything that was good in my previous review. On top of that no food....... Had a soft drink and madfe my apologies and left.

Tucked away off the main road next to the Railway line on Monmouth Road this pleasant pub offers splendid food and drinks. Don't get me wrong this is not a restaurant it's a pub. It has a skittle alley, pool room, snug and main bar area. During the day the pub is open up til 2pm as a cafe which serves a great value, great tasting breakfast, freshly made sandwiches and baguettes and hot meals. The sunday lunch is great value with a choice of two meats with up to five veg for 5.50. Kids lunch is about 4.00 including a drink and pudding for kids. As i say, it's not a restaurant but if you want to sit and enjoy a nice pint, snack, lunch with nice people pop in and give the Railway a try.
