First time we have been here and initial impressions were good. The beer (Harveys) was in excellent condition, although a bit expensive (£3.50) for the area. The pub was clean and comfortable with a nice log fire. We ordered food which arrived quickly but my wife's had burnt garlic which badly affected the taste and shouldn't have left the kitchen. We mentioned this to the barmaid at the end but got no real reaction. All rather disappointing but we will give them another chance sometime. We gave it 5 but it would have been more if the food had been better cooked.

Nice pub with lovely garden and Harveys on fine form. If youre a fan of pub games, ask for the Toad-In-The-Hole!

Down grade this pub as they have stopped serving straight from the barrel and gone onto hand pumps. Food prices also increased

Very impressed with this pub, friendly and helpful staff ina nice location. 3 real ales on offer, one tasted rather sour to me but the other two, Harveys and Doom Bar were excellent. Game of Toad in the Hole available in the bar also.

We use this location often as a base for walks to the nearby Arlington Reservoir or in Abbotts Wood. Have always enjoyed our lunch here : good food with a wide choice and many specials, and excellent ales and cider.
The possibility of an occasional lunchtime special price for two dining have been much enjoyed. Excellent value.
