| Apart from the owner and two staff I was the only person in here at 20.30 on Saturday 27th December. The other pubs in the area seemed to be doing ok so it wasn’t just the time of year. I regretted walking in before the door had closed behind me as I’m not a fan of R&B and the draught selection of Peronni, Becks Vier, Kronenburg, Guinness and Strongbow hardly had me licking my lips. My pint of Peronni was flat, but after a couple of forced gulps the owner walked over and said that he wasn’t happy with it and gave me a replacement. This small yet important act has saved his bar from a miserable 0 rating. There is a decked area out the back and there is an upstairs area, but I didn’t have the inclination to check it out. There were also some flyers on the table mentioning that a pool table was coming soon. I won’t be going back here again, even though I won a few quid out of the quiz machine. | I don't think wakmaggot can have been to the townhouse for a while! It has recently changed hands. They've knocked all the 5 pints for a pound promos on the head, cleared out the less savoury elements and the place is starting to get a good atmosphere! Much preffered to the war zone of slaters next door. Which strangly doesn't appear on this site? Nor does Boltons? Eastbournes very own bermuda triangle of pubs!!
