The biggest embarrasment to Timothy Taylor brewery. You can always replace bad staff but the "absolutely no top up of your drink" policy really gets up your gander. Endless complaints every week to Camra and Trading Standards. Best advice to punters is AVOID! and to Tim Taylors - sell it or close it down. Britains worst evidence yet of Customer Service and Value For Money. Bad attitude with a capital F.

This must be the only pub in Britain where the manager actively refuses to top up your pint! And at these prices they clearly are rubbing your nose in it. Prententious pub, pretentious staff. Go over the road to The Red Pig, friendly, busy and great full pints at good prices!

On a recent revisit to Keighley I went in the pub.Make no mistake it has been tastefully refurbished and is spacious and comfortable. The menu looks good and it has a good range of real ales.BUT it is not the Rodney I used to be a regular at. This was full of character and characters. The new Rodney is bland and characterless. It could be anywhere and is certainly not a Keighley pub. They are obviously aiming at a different clientele and I am not convinced that clientele exists in sufficient numbers in Keighley. The relatively low score it seems to have been given reflects this.If I lived in Keighley now it would be an occasional visit place, not a regular haunt.

Dropped by yesterday for my first visit since the rebuilding. Interior brings to mind the bar area of a modern boutique hotel - all clean lines, comfy booths and high chairs. Very impressive bottled beer selection - I can't recall the last time I saw the marvellous Brugs Zot in a British pub. They also had Orval, Westmalle and Kwak - all served in their traditional beer-specific glasses. These were all about £3.20 a bottle, which I though was pretty reasonable. There's also the regular Taylor ales. Service was typical Keighley - friendly and chatty. It's not a place I'd go to regularly, but it's a nice change from the usual. Taylor's have a winner here - good to know that the brewery are forward-looking as well as being a company that preserves the traditional.
