| Visited here today for 2 or 3 for the first time in a while , comfortable inside , beer reasonably priced , and quality quite good , theakstons black bull bitter , the only unusual one , not a bristol great yet ,but you could do a lot worse , especially in an area which if not neglected has been overlooked by a lot of bristol drinkers , ie over the road you have the port call , coach and horses , the red lion , beaufort etc etc all within a minute of each other plus this one . beatles38 - 7 Dec 2009 20:22 |
| A pub which is far nicer on the inside than it appears from the outside. Sofas up the back for those that want them, one peculiarity is the location of the TV - only watchable from at/behind the bar. Perhaps that's why quiz prize is "One minute behind the bar(!)" Today; Ruddles County, Spitfire, London Pride, Butcombe and Doom Bar. Average price for the area. Could have done without the irritating local radio in the background. Friendly staff. | Just had sunday lunch here and found it to be fantastic, great food and ales, spoke to the landlord and staff who were friendly and polite and could crack a joke or two, have found that the ale list has gone from three to six in the last 18 months and that they are looking for another pub. This pub has the Cask Marque for the usual reasons but i found the beer to be exceptional and was even asked if i wanted my pint topping up if i wanted to which I declined as i found the head to my pint of Yorkshire Terrier (guest ale) to be more than acceptable. like beatles38 says woth a repeat visit! bristolbeerdemon - 7 Jun 2009 17:32 |

| Went in this pub on the Thursday before Good Friday and the atmosphere was non-existent. Got a nice 'hello' from the girl behind the bar but upon leaving no-one said anything, even the landlord who was sitting at the bar. Some background music wouldn't go amiss here and a cheerful farewell bid. pmeister - 10 Apr 2009 18:08 |
