Cracking pub, good selection of real ales and a handy function rooms for events. Friendly bar staff and Don has always been particularly helpful with funcitons. Recomended. I_love_rough - 7 Dec 2008 22:38
I know it was Saturday of the Harbour festival but there were only 3 in on our visit. We sat outside with Skipton brewery ale,and something obscure for Kernow, both of which were moderate. There were no mongrels marauding on this visit. The sarcastic(in my opinion) barman decided to play his loud techno music at 5pm thus eradicating his few punters, and deterring us from having another. Like has been said before definitely not the cream of the normally good Dawkins crop. an_ecunemical_matter - 5 Aug 2008 20:35
A good stop for quality ale, but didn't really carry the charm or ambience of places like the Hillgrove PS - a minor gripe. Still worth seeking out though and I will be back. Quinno - 6 Jun 2008 20:19
I didn't challenge my low pint served by a barman who seemed preoccupied by the arrival of his relief because I thought that it might have been a lined glass(it wasn't). London Pride,2 from St Austell and Cheddar Best(very good) were the range. Cesspit toilets. Dogs wandering all over the gaff. Maybe a bit over-rated by some and not nearly as good as the Hillgrove. an_ecunemical_matter - 12 Mar 2008 20:40
Really liked this pub.A good old local with good beer and a really nice dog called Maurice and another one called Nelson that's only nice if you have crisps. baxterfish - 13 Dec 2007 16:42
