Visited on a sunny Saturday evening and really liked it. Friendly, efficient service and as the photo's show, a really great location. Can't comment about the food but I felt that the cost of drinks was reasonable, considering the location. I would recommend.

Great pub for the location (by the river and 3 minutes from my house!), but not very much else. The Ordinary is badly kept and Special seems to have disappeared from all Young's pubs since the Charles Wells merger. Tatty inside - needs some money spending on it to raise the game a bit and match the sometimes breathtaking pricing structure.

That said, if you find yourself a table outside it's a nice place to while away a few hours by the Thames and less chav-infested than the Old Ship.

We really enjoyed Sunday roast there last week,
the food was very good, roast beef with 2 yorkshire puds and plenty of vegetables, followed by home made apple crumble. Great Sunday afternoon.

The reason people moan about the prices is because most pubs with prices like theirs justify it somehow. Sadly with this place I see no reason why, unless you are quite literally paying for that view. I admit in nice weather it's great to sit outside there, but otherwise it's not worth it. Also, the staff used to be great, really friendly and welcoming, and now they act as if they'd really rather you leave.
Possibly the most annoying thing is when we stupidly ordered a steak without checking how much it cost. It was about £17, came with chips and salad only, and literally had no flavour to it at all. For that amount, you'd think they'd do something to it other than slap it on the grill...actually they didn't even do that right. It was cold.

Why all the complaints about the prices? How often do some of you go out? The prices are really quite standard for Barnes and the pub is friendly.

Now there is a non smoking ban the air is fresh. The barbque area is really good and the view to die for.
The service is sometimes slow but mostly they are friendly.
They have a Salsa night on every Thurday and a music night on Sunday's.
Give it a go.
