| Yes must agree with other reviews about this gem of a pub. Very cosy, well kept ales and people behind the bar who actually smile and bid you a warm welcome. Why are these establishments so few and far between? The bowling green adds to the charm! nokegthanks - 13 May 2010 19:08 |
| This is a great pub on a lovely street - a hidden gem. Great staff and a relaxed atmosphere. To anyone who cares about these things- there is another local pub with a bowling green attached - The Red Lion in Withington, about 2 miles away. WeAreACC - 13 May 2010 18:09 |
1930's period building with many original features and furnishings. The 2010 GBG describes the bowling green to the rear as a rare feature.I am not implying unique, but where are the others? I would love to know. Deservedly on the national inventory Busy vibrant crowd of locals enjoying a wide range of Hyde's beers, the guests being London pride and roosters on my visit. Go for the building alone. If you like Hyde's beers it's a bonus. A must on any visit to Stockport and in Michelin star terms "worth a detour" R32 Polypinmath - 6 Apr 2010 10:30 |
