| No, the best thing would have been if it was run properly. Sadly this descent old pub had a really big back garden and that was it's downfall. Land in the middle of Broadwater will make you more money than the pub, so goodby to The Wigmore. I guess it was built about 1920ish, It was the Wigmore till the old England player Malcolm Mcdonald was manager in the 80s I think, called it the Far Post because of him! Redone after him it became the Wig and Pen and a hangout for a far younger crowd than in it's Wigmore days. Not the best pub in town but another one gone. forresearchpurposesonly - 2 Oct 2006 00:16 |
