| fair enough, we'll give it another try. 5/10 Biker - 5 May 2008 05:50 |
| In reply to 'Biker' - I certainly am not related in any way or form to Sussex Yeoman. Regarding Directors - yes, it's still there. Any complaints should be addressed to Spiritgroup.com - as they control which ales are sold inhouse. You will be relieved to know the scampi was fine, as were the chicken skewers, beef & ale pie, and Italian chicken. Not all mine - visited with friends! Service at the bar was, again, efficient by 'Dan'. Kronenburg was right temp as was JSmiths and white wine. It had been a busy day there due to a (jolly) hockey tournament. Food was delivered in 12 mins and tasted satisfactory! It's not really a pub for real buff(oon)s, but offered a varied range in both prices and ABVs. Atmosphere was warm and friendly with all ages present in both bar and restaurant. Will visit again on a day when there is no all day event being hosted locally - needless to say they coped well under the obvious pressure. 2for1 was taken and price for four plus drinks was under £25.00! | Louiloui, welcome to the site, I see you joined on the 27 April. Click on usernames for profile information. More importantly, has a miracle occurred in the Yeomans ? Judging by your review, something truly miraculous has taken place. What is it - please tell us ? Has the management changed ? Are the staff being trained properly now ? Is there still only Directors on for real ale. Has the food been improved ? As an aside, the last pint of Directors I bought in the Yeomans tasted more like something that's used for preserving vegetables ! To be fair though, it was changed without fuss. As for the food, last year 4 of us went for their 2 for 1 deal - we sent 3 back as they were burnt. Scampi coating should not be black in colour and resemble brazil nuts in texture ! On the other hand, I hope you're not a member of staff or a favoured customer !! 1 / 10 based on our last visit in November 07 ps, can we see some more reviews in your profile please ? | I visited this pub recently and would thoroughly recommend it. The atmosphere was friendly and the customers were of all ages and demographics. I don't think a pub can be reasonably slated if it doesn't have more than 3 real ales. The pub companies generally go for popular ales. The ale I chose was clean and dropped bright.Service was efficient and with a smile. Interior was clean and fresh looking. Food was delivered within 15 minutes and suitably hot! I recommend this pub if you want a decent lunch. I will visit again in the evening to compare. Louiloui - 27 Apr 2008 15:52 |
| I have asked the administrators of this site to remove my first review for this pub as it's no longer accurate, this pub has slipped a long way. Not recommended. Biker - 2 Nov 2007 07:35 |
