| what a nasty place. Gone downhill since my last visit. Now you have to pay for parking - they claim it's cos of parking issues - always empty - was that an issue. Food burnt - service slow and unhappy. No manager around. Louiloui - 7 Nov 2009 23:42 |
| We went on a Monday night, but they seemed to have run very low on stocks. They had run out of the following : Burgers, Rib eye steak, large Rump steaks, onion rings & vanilla ice cream - all of which seem pretty basic to a pub restaurant. They even ran out of steak knives when our food turned up. The duty manager explained that they were awaiting a delivery. The restaurant was no more than 1/3 full, yet the duty manager kept appologising for delays due to the fact they were so busy! When the food arrived, it was all ok, but the evening had already been spoilt by the lack of choice. We were very dissapointed with our visit, and will certainly not be returning. | not been in here for a good few years but it used to run by morons. vegetables from their sunday carvery were all microwaved and some of the bar stuff were planks. aside from the people working there it has potential as an actual establishment as it has a large car park and the location is quite handy. cm_ - 9 Aug 2009 22:12 |
| Have not been back here for some time (will do so next week) but I have to add to the comments below. Dan was the only one who seemed to have a head on his shoulders. Last time we were there, Dan wasn't and they served us our dessert before the main course along with the bill!! sherber - 14 Oct 2008 17:56 |
| In reply to 'Biker' - I certainly am not related in any way or form to Sussex Yeoman. Regarding Directors - yes, it's still there. Any complaints should be addressed to Spiritgroup.com - as they control which ales are sold inhouse. You will be relieved to know the scampi was fine, as were the chicken skewers, beef & ale pie, and Italian chicken. Not all mine - visited with friends! Service at the bar was, again, efficient by 'Dan'. Kronenburg was right temp as was JSmiths and white wine. It had been a busy day there due to a (jolly) hockey tournament. Food was delivered in 12 mins and tasted satisfactory! It's not really a pub for real buff(oon)s, but offered a varied range in both prices and ABVs. Atmosphere was warm and friendly with all ages present in both bar and restaurant. Will visit again on a day when there is no all day event being hosted locally - needless to say they coped well under the obvious pressure. 2for1 was taken and price for four plus drinks was under £25.00!
