Definitely my favourite pub on Lewes Road. Nice atmosphere, surprisingly large (only difficult to find a seat when their music festival Gladstonebury is on). Decent enough range of lagers, ales and ciders. Prices were okay-ish (£3.30 for a Heineken, £3 for a pint of Stowford Press). In the middle of Studentland as well!

Went to The Gladstone on Saturday the 14th of March as I heard there was some reggae djs playing. I'd seen a flyer in the Dumb Waiter. I didn't expect what I saw, the place was jumping.
Full reggae style sound system, live vocals and insruments backed by a mixed bunch of very friendly djs and selectors and my feet vibrating with the bass.
I really didn't expect that from a 'quiet out of town' pub !
Apparently they are the called Dub in the Pub. Top name.
Had sunday lunch there too next day, free range chicken roast and check out the home made cheese cake !
Everyone is entitled to there comments and I'm entitled to say this - Go to the Gladstone, be served by lovely people, eat good food and have some Dub in The Pub...

Good music, good atmosphere, used to only be a larger place but now also sells and excellent pint of Harveys, 8/10

Went there for lunch today and we both had a good experience, the choice of drink has improved alot from a couple of years ago, real ales, wine list, ciders or the usual draught lagers.
Service was friendly and quite prompt and the food (satay chicken burger for me and Greek salad for the other half, both of which were good quality and a generous proportion, no sense of a half arsed effort at all) was without fault.
The clientele was quite mixed but not numerous although this was a rainy Saturday lunchtime... no complaints really.

i think that the toilets need to be decorated NOW!! as the mens are truly disgusting, as for the womens toilets... they have the remnants of heroin users blood splattered over the walls.
