user reviews of the Ranelagh, Brighton

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Nice pub, and great live music (blues mainly) on various days (thurs & Sun mainly), it used to be very smokey, then the new laws came in, but they have a beer terrace, with heaters and cover in the winter, and some varied ales on tap. The only bad thing I can say, is the toilets are disgusting, and I hope they sort them out soon...

7/10

(would be a 10/10 if the toilets were sorted)

Good beer, regular change of ales. Live music most Sundays and Thursdays. Mixed aged groups. Mix of people typical for central Brighton. Pleasant patio garden for the summer.

Went in with the intention of ordering a beer but the atmosphere made my eyes water before I could even get to the bar. They could certainly do with some smoke extractors! If you don't smoke you probably won't like it here.

Great little boozer - good beer (Harvey's & London Pride when I was in)- friendly bar staff - drinkers of all ages and Jackson Browne on the stereo. Looks like plenty of live music too - well worth a visit.
