Hagisard Can I just ask what the scottish woman looked like? Or her name? I am amazed that the staff in this pub would be like that - I think most of them would do their upmost to be polite and friendly to new customers!?

I visited the talbot recently with my wife as i was told the pub had changed ownership and things were much better. This seemed to be the case,so we decided to have another drink. The staff were very nice and quick to serve and we were starting to relax. Then it hapened. A change of staff,a scotish girl started her shift with a big chip on her shoulder. She was rude to customers along the bar,and then it was our turn. My wife asked for a packet of crisps, there was no please or thankyou, and when my wife said thankyou again the barmaid just shrugged her shoulders back. And also said to one of the other customers if they dont like it they can go and drink somewhere else knowing that we could hear this. so we left and won't be back. Just before we left the other customer who she was telling this to told us that she is very rude and other people have decided not to drink in there any more. Having owned several retail outlets and worked very hard to make customers feel at home, all this hard work can be undone by one person, and is a real shame as the rest of the staff were very good.

Fantastic Venue and see this pub is in the middle of a refurb.
Well hats off to you Jamie and Violet, what brewery is actually refurbing a pub at the moment in this difficult time, a credit to the job you guys continue to do! I also here you guys are putting more money in to refurb inside and start home cooked food!

I didnt dare enter this pub 2 years ago, I reckon rather soon u will have one of the busiest pubs around.

Well done

A good pint of Ringwood Best, pleasantly served. Didn't stay for a second because the juke box music was too loud for my taste.

Well said aledrinker99. We share the same sentiments,if not the same humour. Truth is I have never been in the Parkstone and, probalby, never will.I don't like pubs that have the same ethos and character of a McDonalds. My local is real,I was just up to Puck-like mischief. Enjoy you're local and keep it open, happy travels to all at the Talbot.
