Really nice pub especially for a drink before heading home, and much better than when it was a no-go zone and full of threatening people BUT why are most of the tables reserved for dining in the pub area at the peak time for after-work drinks? Most people just want to have one or two 'quickies' before going home and not be forced to share large tables in the window with other embarassed drinkers. The piano takes up space for quite a few tables for two! dorsetknob - 29 Jan 2010 19:15
Used it for a drink or two on Mondays while the Market was on. Then the refurb. While it made the place a bit more contemporary, it lost its soul. Also the prices went through the roof. Wont be going back. Shame. trebor1 - 19 Jan 2010 18:31
Hi I went to this pub yesterday lunch time with family, it was my 2nd time there, the first time I had a meal it was ok, I had ordered lemon chicken with grilled vegetables, it was disappointing as it was chicken served with a slice of lemon! that was the lemon chicken, My mum had a salad which was ok, we gave it another try yesterday but we were very very disappointed! My husband and brother has the roast beef, it arrived at the table 2 slices of beef, the smallest yorkshire pudding I have ever seen! 2 roast potatoes, and a few sliced carrots and a few mange tout and a little gravy, £9.90 each, we did notice that some people had new potatoes with their roast dinners aswell as roast pots, but we didn't! I went for the medium hot chilli served with rice and a few dorito's, sadly that was very disappointing too........... Drinks are very expensive a pint of Timothy Taylors was £3.40, a spiced rum and a dash of tap coke £3.40, half a becks £1.70 do I need to go on!!!! won't be going back there! To some it up A RIP OFF! Also the lock on one of the ladies toilets door was not there so had to keep my foot on the door to keep it closed! youngcatherine - 14 Sep 2009 08:51
