Great food, Great atmosphere and Great people both eating and serving.
This is a roast dinner to leave you sleepy and satisfied on every level, proceeded by a bread basket and oil so delightfully yummy that you'll actually find yourself contemplating asking your hosts where they buy their bread.

Expensive? No, not when you consider no washing up, cozy free papers and staff who will give you extra stuffing and gravy without thinking of charging you. How refreshing.

As we all know, it's the little things that mean the most, which is why i'll be going back to the landseer and taking the family with me!

Two requests though....
1. Bring back the cat!!!
2. Pop a little more custard on the pudding...though i'm sure if i'd have asked you'd have given it to me!

oh and 'Hello Bru!'

Went to The Landseer for Sunday Lunch a couple of weeks back - and it was fantastic. I'm really picky when it comes to roast dinners, so don't take that comment lightly!

I had Pork, whilst my girlfriend had Beef - both cooked perfectly, PLENTY of meat, with lovely veg and roast potatoes, and most importantly, lots of gravy (I hate having to ask for more gravy, so this was a bonus!). Whilst some may call it expensive, I would say that you definitely get what you pay for.

Good beer and wine selection - although it would be good to have a couple more ales available (but that's true of almost every pub).

The staff were really friendly, nothing was a problem. (Oh, and hello to the ginger South African guy - sorry it took so long to post a review!)

I hadn't been to The Landseer for a couple of years prior to this visit, but will be going back soon. Definitely on the up!

PS. Where's the cat?!!

Probably the best place for a drink in Holloway - nice pub, good selection of drinks (compared to other pubs in the area).

I had been avoiding this pub for a while after the change in management a year or two back, but they've really upped their game lately and this is quickly becoming my favourite pub in the area once again.

From the meals I've tried recently I'd say that they chucked the poncey chef they started off with and are getting back to simpler ideas with high-quality ingredients. The Sunday roast is superb - I certainly wouldn't be ashamed to serve that on my own dinner table.

There are a few ales on tap and the wine selection is excellent. The massive amount of seating means you're never starved for space and the big leather sofas make for a lovely afternoon reading the paper. Children are welcome, which makes a change, and is especially welcomed by local families as there's a play area in the small park opposite the pub.

On sunny days the indoors seems to be relatively child-free and they're all gone by the evening.

Staff are friendly and helpful and have gotten in to their stride - food is served quickly without error. Though they do occasionally forget the knives and forks.

There are board-games on offer and enough big tables to play them on.

Actually, why am I telling you all this? You might all go there and spoil the lovely, relaxed atmosphere.

Best pub in the area by a big stretch.
