| Went in for Sunday lunch after a long absence and was really pleasantly surprised. Food was delicious (must have a new chef), well presented, piping hot and a generous portion of vegetables cooked to perfection. The very good and pleasant waitress made this is very enjoyable experience and one that I hope to repeat soon. rcey - 24 Feb 2008 15:51 |
| A nice pint from a local brewery and an interesting interior, but not especially welcoming. rpadam - 9 Feb 2008 18:14 |
| listening to radio five live last week we heard the owner chatting about the new no smoking law and decided to revisit again ! and even better than before - money has been well spent on the new garden decking and a much improved menu ( fajitas, goats cheese salad, share plates etc ). staff just as pleasant. had another great day there froggy68 - 12 Jul 2007 21:44 |
| Went here because I was tired of the idiosyncracies of the Barley Mow (which has white tablecloths, folded serviettes, cutlery and glasses lined up for a 3-course meal, cut flowers, waiter in a black waistcoat and bow tie, etc.; in other words is made to look like the Savoy when at the end of the day it's only the non-smoking area of a pub). I was immediately struck by the William's smart car park, nice traditional ambience, Shere Drop on tap, varied menu, and one gorgeous waitress. Slightly let down by the food: liver was a bit chewy and, although expensive (over a tenner) didn't include veg (which costs extra!). But good enough to give it another go one day. | The food is very good and the barmaides are very good to look at. Petty the locals have pointy heads though. Jimbospur - 27 Jan 2007 09:55 |
