Myself and my wife visited this pub on Saturday 14th January 2012 and had an absolutely fantastic meal. The atmosphere was great, the staff were very friendly and the food was fantastic. I had the best burger I have ever had (and I have had a lot!) with Cheese, Bacon, Gherkins, Fried Onions and Sundried Tomatoes on top and was thoroughly impressed with the value too.

I only wish we lived in the local area so we could eat there more often!

Tried the Shere Drop (Surrey Hills Brewery) which was a very good pint. The 'Bar Snacks' menu didn't have anything much in the way of cooked food, so headed round to the dining area. The pub itself was quite busy but the dining room was empty although it did fill up later. I had pork & herb sausages with Colcannon mash. Food freshly cooked and the meat sourced from the local butcher. The William IV is a fairly large pub with the space broken up into different sized seating areas to go with the vagaries of a very old timbered building. The whole pub though, has a nice friendly atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

The friendliest, nicest pub in surrey... The owners , mark an kate make you feel like part of one big happy family, great service and lovely , well cooked traditional food
and if there is something they can do for you they will.
Bar staff are second to none , to me one of the nicest things is staff who smile and are there when you need them , no waiting in a for a drink or food to be served .

i highly recommend this pub.. both for drink and food and best of all for service with a smile

Went here with friends for first time and found it to be a very welcoming venue, beer was in excellent condition, Shere Drop and Courage Best was sampled. Food was also very good quality with decent portions. Will be back here soon. One of few pubs that has a Dart board, and best of all, very motorcycle friendly.

visited again and enjoyed another great evening. had a saxophonist playing in the corner of the bar making a lovely atmoshpere, supplemented by the live log fire.
food very good again, tried the local rump steak this time, with peppercorn sauce - fantastic
well worth another visit soon
