| Today I called in to Liz 'n' Lil's and it is, indeed, a 'licensed tea and coffee house'. It opens daytimes only and is closed on Sundays. As well as hot beverages it sells Fentiman's traditional soft drinks and a good selection of alcoholic drinks, including bottle-conditioned British ales and continental treats such as Erdinger and Duvel. Draught beers are Pilsner Urquell and Amstel. The food is innovative and excellent. I was well-impressed with the Blackburn Bake! It also sells home baked bread and a range of cakes. Friendly welcome and great service in comfortable and relaxed surroundings. This is an innovative reopening of a pub that has had many incarnations and plenty of closed spells.
