Called in while at the recent Cardiff beer festival, but did not have any of the available beers as I too was looking for guests. gillhalfpint - 6 Jul 2008 10:02
Not a bad place, has regular live music events and has a nice seating area for the Summer (or the Winter, if you are brave). Food is only average, and the beer is reliable if a little predictable. Would be nice to see a few guest ales, and to respond to one of the posters re: Brains SA, why would you want to get exactly the same ale in EVERY pub in Cardiff? I dance with delight if I see no Brains beers available! MrMister - 24 Jan 2008 20:10
i use this pub before Wales international footie matches. Okay food but small portions, good TV screens for Sky etc.. but how on earth can you have a pub in cardiff that doesn't serve Brains SA? anonymous - 24 May 2006 23:33
This a good little area for pubs although the nearby Cayo Arms and Y Mochyn Du are better. I was there before and after the Cup Final and it was packed as you can imagine but the staff coped reasonably well. Brains bitter is the only real ale and it wasn't kept that well. Has a patio out the front where you can drink and they also set up a bar-b-q on Saturday lunchtime which was serving better burgers than you would have got in the vicinity of the ground. Also found it a good place to stand outside after the match as you could abuse all the Mancs heading home by coach. The Beverley has 17 en-suite rooms which is handy as it's only 15/20 minutes walk to the Millennium stadium and the city centre. johnkn7 - 23 May 2005 17:12
